South Wales Boat Show looks good
25 May 2010
Ben Sutcliffe: one berth left…
With a little over three weeks to go, the South Wales Boat Show is, says organiser
Ben Sutcliffe, all set to go. There is, he says, one extra berth available
on a first come basis…
SWBS: Mr Sutcliffe says the final site plan will be up the middle of next
week and all the exhibitors will be up by the end of the week. ‘This
is really the last call if you need stand space in the main areas of the show,’
he said.
The 2010 advertising campaign started early in April and new visits are being
generated by all sorts of marketing of the event, said Mr Sutcliffe. Several
exhibitors are also sending out news and flyers to customers too.
‘We’re kindly supported by several media companies and this is
helping to keep the show in the news,’ he added.
40,000 flyers have now arrived and going out. And the show is running a new
promotion for the opening day – It’s Five pound Friday. ‘We’ve
decided to print our own five pound notes, and when these are presented to
the cashier adults will be admitted for only a fiver and children free for
that day only.’
The final touches include 1500 square metres of astroturf ‘to give the
show more of a feel.’ And a new attraction is Dragon Boat racing that’ll
take place on the Sunday June 20 – entries are welcome, says Mr Sutcliffe.
The South Wales Boat show runs from Friday June 18 to Sunday June 20 at the
Prince of Wales Dock in Swansea. More information from Ben Sutcliffe on 07796

ZMP sponsors North and South Wales
shows
11 May 2010
Ben Sutcliffe is extremely pleased to have ZMP sponsoring both of his shows
The announcement that ZMP is to sponsor both of Ben Sutcliffe’s Welsh
boat shows gives them that seal of manufacturer involvement and endorsement
that lifts them to the next level of boat shows. Our congratulations, Mr Sutcliffe.
BOAT SHOWS: Zodiac Marine & Pool, manufacturer of the Avon, Zodiac and
Bombard brands of RIBs and Inflatable boats, is to sponsor the South Wales
and North Wales Boat Shows for 2010.
ZMP will be showing its full range of products, including the Avon Seasport
Jet performance tenders and the Bombard inflatable tenders, represented by
Cambrian Boats at the South Wales Boat Show in Swansea Docks next month and
Glaslyn Marine at the North Wales Boat Show at Bangor in July.
‘ZMP is the first company to sponsor both the North Wales and South
Wales Boat Shows,’ said a very pleased Ben Sutcliffe, organiser for
both shows. ‘The company will be given prime show areas at both of the
shows as part of the sponsorship, giving the dealers the very best location
to display this range of exceptional boats.’
‘We’ve closely followed the development of both the North Wales
and South Wales Boat Shows with interest throughout the year,’ commented
Alan Morgan, a director of ZMP Recreational UK. ‘Our dealers have come
away from previous shows with very positive results and we’re therefore
delighted to be returning in 2010 with even greater support.’
The fact that our UK offices are based in Wales makes sponsorship of both
shows even more fitting, Mr Morgan added.
The South Wales Boat Show runs in the Prince of Wales Dock in Swansea from
Friday June 18 to – Sunday June 20. The North Wales Boat Show runs from
Friday July 30 to Sunday August 1 at The Vaynol Estate, Bangor.

Make a splash at boat show . TO
celebrate the South Wales Boat Show sailing into Swansea ticket-holders have
been invited to make a splash for themselves. Traditionally held in the grounds
of Margam Park, the largest marine event in Wales is relocating to the more
nautical location of the Prince of Wales Dock in the SA1 development. To mark
the move, the nearby LC has joined forces with the event organisers to provide
even better value. All boat show ticket holders will gain free entry to the
LC's waterpark throughout the show period.
Nic Beggs, LC marketing manager said: "We've attended the South Wales
Boat Show for the past two years and there's always a fantastic atmosphere,
with loads going on for a full family day out.
"With the new location being so close to the LC, we've been able to enhance
the show even more by offering the complementary use of the waterpark for
ticket holders." South Wales Boat Show's Ben Sutcliffe said: "I've
not taken the relocation lightly but the new venue has so many advantages
now that the show is bigger, with the added benefit of craft afloat too. "The
maritime quarter and SA1 development has so much to offer, and visitors to
the boat show can take advantage of this making their day out even better."
The show is set to take place from Friday, June 18, to Sunday, June 20, with
more than 200 exhibitors planned.
